Abstractions features two artists engaging in a singular dialog concerning the artistic process as an exploration of contradiction, relationship and mystery through the lens of abstraction. Leslie Holland (Santa Fe) and Chandler Wigton (Durango) offer two separate bodies of work that together, seek to shed light on the individualist approach to painting.

Self-Guided Tour of three artistic “Quirky” Homes in Albuquerque 11am-4pm
This self-guided tour of three creative homes will take you on a imaginative journey of dreamy exploration where “lost and found” boxes spring to life. Traverse the depths of the fantasy realm; encounter abandoned gloves amassing themselves into a 12 foot high tree (accompanied by bent, re-assembled horn sections from Hurricane Katrina); and ride a mosaic carnival of mismatched doll-parts and found objects that’ll turn your whimsy on its head. Artist/Homeowners on the tour include: Daniela and Vladimir Ovtcharov, the prolific, artistic couple who’ve transplanted their Bulgarian roots for the last 15 years in Albuquerque; semi retired UNM professor of religion Ned O’Malia, the eclectic, self-proclaimed “glove addict,”; and self-taught assemblage and mosaic artist Sybil Wertheim.
Refreshments & musical entertainment at each house.
