The Gallery ABQ presents 3 Concepts, featuring three gallery artists: Tim Gifford, who transforms images of the Southwest into beautiful bronze sculpture; Diane Walton Reitz, a contemporary realist who focuses on the portrait and the figure in her oil paintings; and Jeff Warren, who seeks to stretch his imagination in creating thought-provoking larger than life art that evokes feelings from smiles to tears. The January Salon Exhibit features bronze sculptures from Tim Gifford.

Weyrich Gallery presents Intimation: New Works by Laura Pope. Painting in many layers of transparent color, Pope allows the paint to “speak to her and tell her what it wants to become.” Her subjects magically appear out of splotches and random strokes or are often enlarged until they approach abstraction to keep an air of mystery about them. Pope states, “An intimation is a hint; a suggestion. The intimation theme defines this exhibit. Each of the images I am presenting tells a story.” Show Closes: January 31, 1014

Palette Contemporary Art and Craft presents, Stretching Savoye featuring mixed media paintings by Frederick Pichon. His paintings reflect his personal interests in design, architecture, science and history. Pinchon’s resin coated paintings explore realistic architectural draftsmanship in conjunction with abstract elements. Geometry plays a large role in his compositions, as he often collages and utilizes computer imagery in constructing his multi-faceted, colorful paintings. The show runs through February 6, 2014.

Framing Concepts Gallery will start the year with an Open House with some hot refreshments to warm the tummy on a cold winter evening. The show is titled Glitter and Glam and will feature fine art by David Schwindt, Bud Edmondson, Pat Durgin, Lyle Brown, Sharon Higgins, Susan Lange-Marshall, Thais Haines and Lee McVey; glass sculpture by Lisa Chernoff, Pottery by Carolyn McIntosch, and jewelry by Denise Elvrum and Chris Litt; wooden bowls by Mark Craig and other assorted special things including some special edition print specials.
